Monuments Men is monumentally well done

My high hopes for the movie “Monuments Men” were not only exceeded, but it was one of the best films I’ve seen in years despite not being an art buff.

Wait, what does this have to do with a statues blog? Well, my blog is called Monumental Thoughts.

OK, cheap jokes aside on a cold winter’s morn, I was pretty impressed with the movie. Good acting, well-moving plot and a real story of how American forces thwarted Hitler’s treasure hunting when stealing art throughout Europe is told well. It’s well worth plunking down money to see it.

Now if they’d only do a sequel of stopping someone from stealing important documents in Washington . . . Oh wait, that’s called National Treasure.
